Can you briefly introduce yourself? Tell us about your sports background and achievements.
I am Demi Chin, 17 years old, and I started kickboxing when I was 10. Currently, I train every day and also regularly teach and provide personal training to the new generation. Last year, I became the European champion at the Youth Fighting League. Recently, I participated in the World Kickboxing Championships in Germany, reaching the finals but unfortunately losing. The day after, I competed in Kick-Light, where I became the world champion.
How did you come into contact with our sports nutrition products?
I got introduced to House Of Nutrition through my father, Kevin Chin, and your sponsored fighter, Ilyasse Koujjit.
What are some of your favorite sports nutrition products from us and why?
I like using the Pre-Workout when I feel a bit tired or weak before training, and after every workout, I have a protein shake. I still find the mango-white chocolate flavor the tastiest.
What are some of the biggest challenges you have overcome in your sports career?
I really wanted to become a champion in the youth category, and I trained very hard, resulting in winning the European and world titles last year.
Can you tell us more about your daily routine, training, and nutrition schedule?
I currently train twice a day, doing cardio in the morning and kickboxing in the evening. I try to eat as healthy as possible, monitor my calorie intake because I want to stay around my competition weight, ensuring I don’t have to cut too much weight before my fights. This way, I’m at my strongest during competitions.
Do you have tips or favorite ways to use our supplements?
I usually make my protein shake with water, but when I’m at a good weight, I sometimes make it with milk or even tastier, with vanilla ice cream. It’s very unhealthy but delicious.
Besides nutrition, what other factors play a significant role in your success as an athlete?
Getting enough sleep, eating healthily and adequately, staying hydrated, not overtraining, and taking enough rest when needed. Additionally, I have regular conversations with my trainer, keeping me mentally sharp and focused on kickboxing.
How do you stay motivated to train and improve your performance?
Kickboxing is my passion, and I go to the gym with a lot of pleasure. Occasionally, I have a bad day, but then my trainer is always there to turn things around. I train at different gyms to work on my technique and strength and become better.
Can you tell us about a specific person who inspires you and why?
Someone who inspires me is my father. He never misses a training, always accompanies me, and takes me everywhere I need to go for training. I want to give my best for my father. I’m also inspired by Cheyenne Aldus, a multiple-time world champion in both K1 and Muay Thai. We have become friends, and she inspires me even more and helps me when I need it.
If you could switch places with someone from another sport for a day, who would it be and why?
I would like to switch with Shadé van Oorschot. She is in the Dutch national gymnastics team. She does exercises on the beam and the mat, and I think it looks super cool. Sometimes I wish I could do something like that too.
What are your future goals in the sport, and how do you think our products will continue to support you?
I can be brief about my goals; it’s to achieve even more titles in kickboxing. As I’m getting older and my body is changing, I want to continue using the supplements from House Of Nutrition to stay in top condition. I want to sincerely thank you for the sponsorship, and I will make sure you are proud of me.
