Description

Vitamin D is naturally produced by the body when exposed to direct sunlight, but actual UV exposure and vitamin D synthesis depend on many factors (e.g. seasons, location, time, age, smog, dark skin).

Vitamin D occurs naturally in foods as Vitamin D2 (Ergocalciferol) and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol), but can also be provided in the form of supplements. Vitamin D contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and muscles, as well as to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth, and to the normal absorption/use of calcium and phosphorus*.
